Programme purpose:
The purpose of the vocational education programme on computer network and systems is to prepare specialist qualified in computer network and systems, who has the skills on provision of computer hardware-software, organization and management of small size network, administration of the basic server services; has knowledge on key facts, principles, processes and general concepts in the field, acknowledges complicated steps to be taken for performing difficult tasks.
Programme duration: Modular (integrated) 3 years / Modular (non-integrated)- 2 years.
Programme eligibility criteria: Modular – full secondary education / integrated – basic education.
Expected results:
After the programme completion, a graduate is able to:
- Describe required procedures for setting up server infrastructure;
- Install Windows and Linux server operational systems;
- Basic administration of central Directory Service;
- Basic administration of the network address management system (DHCP);
- Basic administration of Domain Name System (DNS);
- Basic management of files and printing server;
- Basic arrangement of server virtualisation technology;
- Manage Linux installation packages;
- Use of commands in Linux and UNIX operational systems;
- Manage Linux file system;
- Basic arrangement of physical and logical topology of the computer network;
- Configure statistical routes;
- Basic configuration of the dynamic routing;
- Basic configuration of commutator;
- Basic configuration of virtual local network.
Employment opportunities:
A person with the middle vocational qualification in the Computer Network and System, has an opportunity to be employed in any public/municipal organization or/and private ownership companies, that use information technologies, as a computer system and network technician in small and medium office networks, whose responsibilities include arrangement-administration of computer systems with hardware-software and network services.
