Approaches for implementation of the vocational education programme: Modular
The programme purpose:
The programme purpose is to prepare bartenders responsible for daily working of a bar, satisfaction of the guests and staff, following safety and hygiene standards, who ensures product quality and is involved in its selling following service standards.
Programme duration: 11 – months
Programme eligibility criteria: basic education, age – 18.
Expected results:
- Making and serving alcoholic drinks according to the standard;
- Making and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails;
- Making and serving hot non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks;
- Carrying financial settlement according to the defined rules;
- Following security norms;
- Opening (mise en place) and closing of working day;
- Communicating in English language regarding professional activities;
- Providing first aid when needed;
- Monitoring of following personal hygiene and sanitary-hygiene norms by the personnel in the catering facility.
Employment opportunities:
After the programme completion, a graduate has an opportunity to be employed as a bartender in the different types of food catering service: bar, café, restaurant, club, casino, hotel complex, destination resort, entertainment centre, cruise ship (in case of relevant maritime training) and other facilities.
